Asbestos Litigation

Leader Berkon Colao & Silverstein is at the forefront of asbestos litigation, having successfully defended clients facing such claims for more than 30 years. Headed by Joe Colao, our asbestos team regularly acts as National Coordinating Counsel and as local New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California counsel in this national litigation. Whether trying cases to verdict, pursuing novel issues on appeal, or successfully resolving cases prior to trial, Leader & Berkon is on the cutting edge of this challenging mass tort. Bobbie Bailey, who heads our Los Angeles office, brings years of experience as lead trial counsel.

Our experience includes both products and premises cases in state and federal trial courts, and on appeal. We have also worked closely with co-defendants, and other counsel, to help develop a national strategy for the defense of these sophisticated cases. On appeal, we have helped develop and shape the evolution of bare metals law in jurisdictions like Washington and California, as well as the extension of that law to the trial courts of the federal multidistrict litigation (MDL). Bottom line, we understand the legal and practical differences presented by the dozens of jurisdictions in which our clients find themselves defending cases, and effectively utilize our local and national knowledge to achieve the best results for our clients on a cost-effective basis.
