Michael concentrates his practice in litigation and dispute resolution, handling a broad range of business and complex commercial matters. He has worked for a variety of sophisticated clients, including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Honeywell, Verizon, Lincolnshire Management, Whirlpool, and Ascend Performance Materials.

He has extensive experience and consistent success handling multiple phases of litigation and dispute resolution. Among other achievements, Michael has tried several cases to verdict, including in the Southern District of New York, the Commercial Division of the New York Supreme Court and in various arbitration forums. His practice also has involved successful appellate representation, including a multimillion-dollar victory for a bank in New York’s First Department.

Michael’s attention to detail, combined with his pragmatic thinking, enable his clients to garner the best results possible in an efficient manner. His knowledge across myriad industries makes him a valuable addition to any in-house legal team or C-Suite he advises.

Business & Commercial Litigation
Michael has litigated and advised clients on a variety of matters involving contract disputes, business torts, breach of representations and warranties, loan/guarantor litigation, purchase price disputes, and fraudulent transfer proceedings.

Among other accomplishments, Michael obtained a $9 million judgment after trial in a contractual indemnity dispute arising from the sale of a nylon manufacturing plant; defeated a multimillion dollar fraud claim brought by a global apparel company against its distributor; defeated a $32 million action for breach of letters of credit against a Ukrainian bank; obtained a multimillion dollar settlement in a complex litigation arising from a seller’s breach of an asset purchase agreement; successfully represented a private equity firm in a dispute with limited partners; defeated a multimillion dollar claim for an earnout payment; successfully obtained payments in investment banking fee disputes; and defended companies in software license litigation.

Securities Litigation
Michael also has broad experience advising sophisticated financial institutions, including private fund managers and public companies, in a wide array of securities-related issues. He has successfully represented clients in matters involving investor claims, investment management agreements, trading errors, clearing issues, and regulatory agency investigations.
Employment Litigation
Michael has represented both companies and executives in connection with executive and broker employment disputes. Issues include non-compete provisions, compensation, claw back provisions, trade secrets, whistleblower claims, and broker protocol compliance.
