Daniel is an experienced litigator who focuses on a wide range of complex commercial disputes, intellectual property matters, securities litigation, and products liability actions in state and federal courts, and before arbitration panels. Daniel has helped clients achieve favorable results by guiding them through sophisticated litigation matters, handling all phases of the litigation process, and resolving disputes through his thorough and pragmatic approach.

Daniel has represented clients in the financial services, insurance, industrial manufacturing, and technology industries, including major Wall Street financial institutions and companies ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to emerging businesses.

Business & Commercial Litigation
Daniel represents major financial institutions and companies in complex commercial disputes, including contract disputes, business torts, and corporate governance matters. His in-court experience includes assisting in a multiweek jury trial in Delaware Superior Court in a half billion-dollar breach of contract litigation arising from a failed corporate divestiture.

Daniel's work includes defending former directors and officers in breach of fiduciary duty actions brought by bankruptcy trustees, as well as extensive experience representing major financial institutions in responding to document and testimonial subpoenas and various contractual disputes. He has handled indemnification disputes and matters arising from asset purchase agreements and corporate transactions.

Daniel also has substantial experience conducting internal investigations. He has investigated matters involving False Claims Act allegations, fiduciary duties, corporate governance, accounting controls, and product defects, including interviewing dozens of witnesses, managing large-scale document reviews, and drafting comprehensive fact-finding reports.

Intellectual Property Litigation
Daniel represents companies in trade secrets litigation, unfair competition, and employee raiding matters. He played a key role in prosecuting a major trade secrets lawsuit that resulted in a $130 million settlement on the eve of trial, including drafting a successful opposition to summary judgment that preserved an $803 million unjust enrichment claim and extensive involvement in trial preparation.

Daniel's work includes prosecuting claims against former employees and their competing businesses for trade secrets misappropriation, unfair competition, and tortious interference with business relationships. He has represented clients in disputes involving departing employees who solicited clients and misappropriated confidential business information, as well as matters involving non-compete agreements and the protection of proprietary business information.

Securities Litigation
Daniel represents major Wall Street financial institutions in a wide array of securities-related matters, including broker-dealer disputes, FINRA arbitrations, regulatory investigations, and responding to subpoenas. His work includes representing broker-dealers in disputes involving securities transactions.
Product Liability and Serious Personal Injury
Daniel defends manufacturers and companies in products liability matters involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death claims. His work includes defending companies against strict products liability, negligence, and breach of warranty claims involving allegations of defectively designed or manufactured products, including cases alleging design defects, manufacturing defects, and failure to warn, as well as claims for punitive damages.

Daniel completed a secondment at a Fortune 300 industrial supply company, where he managed outside counsel in cases involving products liability, mass torts, premises liability, and auto liability. He also handled issues relating to product recalls, regulatory compliance, and supplier contracting.

Prior to joining Leader Berkon, Daniel was a senior litigation associate at Jenner & Block. He also served as an extern for Judge Joan H. Lefkow of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and interned at Lambda Legal, the Office of the Cook County Public Guardian, and the Washtenaw County Office of the Public Defender.
