Los AngelesEdward Martinovich is a trial lawyer with a strong track record for helping clients avoid risk, reduce costs and achieve favorable results in construction, environmental, product liability and toxic tort matters.
He represents clients ranging from small family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies in the automotive, construction and industrial sectors, in state and federal product liability actions, including cases arising out of claimed exposure to asbestos, benzene, and other substances. Edward also defends a wide variety of product manufacturers against product defect and failure to warn claims.
Regularly defending contractors and sub-contractors in construction defect disputes in large residential housing tracts and commercial properties is a large part of Edward’s practice. He has successfully defended contractors against construction defect claims by homeowners, and sub-contractors against contribution and indemnity claims by developers and general contractors.
Edward works closely with clients on case evaluation, discovery, expert witnesses, settlement and trial. Edward’s extensive experience in toxic tort/environmental litigation enables him to consistently obtain favorable, cost-efficient results including dismissal, summary judgment and advantageous settlements.
With a talent for uncovering alternative, superseding causes for alleged injuries, Edward has been able to obtain pre-trial dismissals and favorable outcomes for his clients and his motions, discovery and other pre-trial procedures have often culminated in outright or partial dismissals of claims. He is skilled in all phases of trial, including arguing evidentiary issues, jury selection, cross-examination and post-verdict motion work to recover clients' costs and legal fees.
Edward obtained his J.D. from the City University of New York Law School and graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany.
